Australia Day in the Riverland
Time to crank out the cricket bat, don the Brazilian made footwear (havaianas) and have a BBQ. Yep, it’s time for Australia day in the Riverland. Australia Day is a celebration of Australia and a good chance to do the things we love doing the most! (BBQ’s and cricket yeah?)
The best part about Australia Day 2018 is it’s a long weekend! Unlike last year where a good chunk of Australia took a day off between Australia Day and the weekend, (how Aussie I know) this year you won’t have to make that fake doctors certificate or make up some dodgy excuse about your cousins cat going missing and you had to help find it.
Ok, so what’s the go in the Riverland Australia Day long weekend? Read below and plan your weekend how you wish, as there are many options!
Australia Day BBQ’s
Now’s the time to rekindle that backyard cricket form from Boxing Day and celebrate Australia Day, but before you take to the wicket why not do the most Aussie thing ever and have a BBQ breakfast.
The good news is you won’t have to go far for a BBQ either with most towns hosting an Australia day BBQ breakfast. It’s also a great time to recognise the Australia Day award winners. Show your appreciation and have a great brekky at the same time!
