Loxton Pioneer Playground – Featuring a flying fox, electronic game, water play, junior area, a bike track for young riders and BBQ facilities.

Loxton Lights Festival (until Dec 31)

Loxton shines during this joyous festival with thousands of twinkling fairy lights, bright colourful banners, sparkling garlands and tinsel to create a magic spectacle. An enormous Christmas tree dazzles in the heart of town and from there, large clusters of residential streets feature homes adorned with over 350 illuminated Christmas scenes, paintings and coloured light displays.

Visit Christmas Wonderland -The star of the Christmas Lights Festival. This is the 32nd year that this private display has been staged at Loxton East. An enchanting coloured light spectacular with amazing illuminated scenes stretching over 250 metres.

Nature Play in one of our many National Parks

Nature play is a great concept to encourage children to spend more time playing outdoors using their imaginations in a natural setting. Opportunities for Nature Play in the Riverland are endless

Murray River National Park comprises three separate areas of land: Katarapko, Lyrup Flats, and Bulyong Island which cover more than 13,000 hectares and conserve the wetlands that flow through the park. The Park contains some of the most visually spectacular and environmentally important areas in the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin. These areas conserve a number of flood plain environments, and are the breeding ground for most of southern Australia’s waterfowl and other waterbirds.

Experience Lake Bonney

Weather in a canoe, behind a speed boat or just splashing around on the foreshore Lake Bonney is a fabulous spot for kids. With expansive lawns this is the perfect location for a picnic or barbecue and a game of cricket. Zorbing is also now available on Lake Bonney, the perfect way for the kids to burn energy on a summers day.

Possum Parade

In the evening the Renmark riverfront turns into “Possum Parade” as cheeky possums come down to feed. You can view the friendly possums each evening at dusk on the beautifully manicured lawns of the Murray River foreshore, opposite the Renmark Hotel and adjacent to the Information Centre.
