The Riverland boasts a large number of public galleries and exhibition spaces showcasing the inspirational works of its many local artists.
The Barmera Theatre Art & Craft Gallery features community-based art and crafts, including oil paintings, watercolours, pastels and photography. Sculptures, china painting, pottery and other crafts are also displayed.In Berri, the River Lands Gallery, operated by Country Arts SA, provides a venue for exhibitions touring South Australia and a gallery space for local artists. There are new exhibitions every four to six weeks.
Showcasing the best of the Riverland and South Australian artists, Loxton Terrace Gallery in Loxton also has exhibitions that rotate every four to six weeks. Take the time to investigate.
In the Foyer Gallery at the Chaffey Theatre Renmark, discover the ‘Artist of the Month’, which showcases Riverland and Mallee 2D and 3D artists. This exhibition space is open during all Chaffey Theatre business hours.
Renmark has a strong art scene, with spaces in the McCormick Centre for the Environment, and the Renmark Paringa Council Foyer Gallery. Both feature rotating exhibits by local artists or projects of interest to the community.
Waikerie’s Rain Moth Gallery provides an excellent selection of handcrafted gifts by artisans and artists from the Riverland and around South Australia, with exhibitions rotating monthly.
