Theatre and Performing Arts

The Chaffey Theatre in Renmark is the centre for screen and performing arts.

Hosting live shows, concerts and theatre productions, it also shows the latest release movies. The Chaffey Theatre is named after brothers William and George Chaffey who established Australia’s first irrigation settlement in 1887.

Riverland Youth Theatre is one of only two regional youth theatre companies in South Australia. RYT breaks down cultural and geographical barriers by working with the community to respond to the social needs of young people.

Riverland’s Musical Society is renowned throughout the region for their regular productions of popular musical theatre classic.

Cellar doors and other attractions around the region embrace the arts and host exhibitions and from time to time feature live performances ranging from opera to soulful solo vocalists.

With an abundance of pubs and clubs across the Riverland it is no wonder there is a strong local music scene which follows. Key venues in the region include the Loxton, Berri and Renmark Hotels and Renmark club all whom regular feature nationally recognised live acts and bands.

Smaller venues like the Cobdogla and Loxton clubs also have regular gigs supporting grass roots bands and performers from across the Riverland.

Check out our events calendar for details on the latest performances throughout the region.
