Spring in to the School Holidays!

23rd September 2020

Spring is in the air in the Riverland! The winter months saw visitors flock to the region for some well deserved down time (or 'river time' as we call it!) and with a change in season the Riverland is ready to welcome you all to our region with open arms.

As you drive in to the Riverland you'll see the wine grapes are bursting into leaf and vast paddocks of green wheat crops are starting to dry before harvest.

Spring down on the river is busy too, wildlife is on the move and new stripy emu chicks are being taken on their first long walks.

The maze at the Monash Adventure Playground!

Our Riverland Caravan Parks, National Parks and accommodations are bursting with excited families ready to discover the region. The kids will love playing and exploring the parks and their facilities and making new friends.

There are some fantastic playgrounds dotted throughout the region that are a must visit - the Barmera Playspace, Morgan River and Rail Adventure Park, Loxton Pioneer Playground, Waikerie Water & Nature Play Park and Renmark Lions Playground. However the biggest and most famous is the Monash Adventure Park. Many people will have fond memories of this park, and while it may look a little different to when most of us were young, the kids will be entertained for hours with the 'leaning towers', swings, slides and of course the maze! Playgrounds are also a great place to sit and have a bbq or picnic in the sunshine.

The Loxton Historical Village is a great place for kids to experience what life was like 'back in the day.' Over the long weekend the village will also have donuts, sausage sizzle, old fashioned games, an art display and kids crafts.

Rivertime can be enjoyed fishing, swimming or kayaking or you can exlpore our national parks and walking trails. Another great way to keep the kids entertained as you explore the region is to try our Riverland 'I Spy' challenge. You can download it here.

For the 'tweens' that are looking for something a little more adventurous, you can't go past Loveday 4x4 Adventure Park for jet ski tours, buggy hot laps and rally drives!
