THIS OCTOBER LONG WEEKEND IN THE RIVERLAND

Get some #rivertime before the weather starts really heating up! There is plenty on offer in the Riverland this October Long Weekend!

Relax by the river and try your luck at catching a fish or explore the creeks in a kayak, take the family to one of the many playgrounds, check out the many Riverland events or experience all the local food and beverage offerings with the River Tastes food and Beverage Trail. You can pick up a copy of the River Tastes map at any local Riverland Visitor Information Centre or download here. Love footy? In case you hadn’t already heard, the AFL Grand Final is on this Saturday the 29th of September! There are plenty of spots around the Riverland for you to watch it live. The Cobdogla Club is offering Happy Hour from the first bounce to last bounce, as well as free nibbles, with the game showing on three screens! Experience the new lounge bar menu with plenty of dishes to share among friends at the Renmark Club, with $5 pints & $5 base spirits for their Members between 12pm - 2pm and multiple screens so you don’t miss a thing. The Barmera Club is also screening the grand final with drink specials, a free sausage sizzle and sweeps and the Loxton Club are spinning the wheel every half hour during the Grand Final for great drink prices on tap beers and hard lemonade.

Or head along to the Woolshed Brewery this weekend with Pete’s Mobile Woodfired Pizzas, Little Miss Daisy coffee and sweets, free BBQ facilities, a local produce selection available to create your own platters and the Dominic Wines container bar featuring wines, cider and unique 'winetails.’ The AFL Grand Final will be played on three TV’s on Saturday and on Sunday Trick Plus will be providing live acoustic entertainment.

Caudo Vineyard will be screening the grand final live on their big screen as well as entertainment from Dads of Yorke. Soak up the sunshine and river views while enjoying wood fired pizzas, local tasting platters or BBQ and sip on their famous Sangria or wines. Back it up on the Sunday with live entertainment from DJ Luke Henry.

The Mallee Fowl Restaurant are launching a new event this Sunday – ‘Fowl Sundays.’ On the menu will be pizza’s and Jimmy’s Pad Thai with a full bar including Woolshed Brewery beers and hard lemonade and Jachmann Ciders. DJs Griegz, Captain Strugs and Scudda are providing the tunes from 3pm until late. There will also be buses running from Loxton, Berri and Renmark.

Love cocktails, music, food and sunsets? Enjoy the Sunset Cocktail Party on the Murray River Queen’s new top deck on Sunday. Watch the sun set with their huge cocktail list to choose from, charcoal grill and tapas and DJ’s playing old school RnB & House music.

Love local history? The Historic Overland Corner Hotel are celebrating 160 years since the beginning of their building with live music by solo artist Harrison Lowe on Sunday 29th September. Or why not visit the Cobdogla Steam Museum on Sunday and see all the steam and working exhibits in operation.

Love going out and about with the family? For the first time ever, Barmera will be host to round one of the Australian Sailing Youth Interclub event on Lake Bonney this Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September. A great chance to grab the family and watch the yachts in action! For a family day out, the Waikerie Street Festival is on Sunday the 30th of September. This is a free family event with live music, food stalls, market stalls and a fantastic atmosphere! The 99th Annual Loxton Show is on Sunday the 29th of September and Monday the 1st of October with plenty to see and do for the whole family including local stalls, rides, amusements and food.
